Accelerated BSN
Earn a second degree and start a new career in nursing in just 15 months with Saint Joseph’s College of Maine’s (SJC) accelerated BSN program. All coursework is synchronous and asynchronous online. Two residencies on campus teach clinical techniques, while direct patient care through clinical rotations in your community builds confidence and hones your skills.

Clinical Placement
Clinical Placement Services
A dedicated SJC Placement Coordinator helps you find a clinical site and preceptor (mentor) in your community.
- Clinicals are akin to an internship.
- You practice what you learn online with actual patients in the real world.
- You work under the supervision of a licensed registered nurse (preceptor).
- You are assigned a dedicated Clinical Placement Coordinator (CPC).
- Your CPC works with you to source and secure a clinical site and preceptor.
- Your CPC is your primary point of contact for all placement logistics.
- Stay in close touch with your CPC throughout the program.
- Your CPC ensures you complete all clerical and health requirements and walks you through the nursing clinicals checklist.
- All clinical experiences are unique. Students work in various healthcare environments directly with individual patients or populations who have dynamic needs.
- You’re not alone. You will be under the close supervision of your preceptor and the indirect supervision of SJC clinical faculty.
